Xpression is an interdenominational Christian outreach initiative supported by Portadown Christian Convention. The aim of Xpression is to express our faith through love, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
Not preaching, not judging, just loving ALL the people of Portadown and showing that love with simple acts of kindness, love and grace and at the same time unashamedly acknowledging God as our Creator and Jesus as our Saviour. He alone is THE WAY, THE TRUTH & THE LIFE.
We also seek to build UNITY & COMMUNITY amongst Christians in our town breaking down dividing walls of religion and denomination.
Xpression 2008 saw some 400 volunteers from most of the main churches in town and beyond work together in unity and harmony with a common purpose serving in 5 different areas, Garvaghy Rd, Brownstown, Killicomaine, Corcrain and the Town Centre.
It was a privilege to put my faith in Christ into action in our own community and to be able to become a fisher of men for Jesus.
As Christians, we have a duty to express our love through our actions. Xpression does just this. It's about "the small things" - gardening, street cleaning, painting, murals, games, BBQs, kids parties face painting and so on. It's also about "the big things" - introducing people in our community to Jesus Christ.
