Men's Bible Class

Past and present members at a special
service for the Men's Bible Class on 9 April 2000

Description of Activities

Archive copies of the Parish Magazine, which commenced publication in January 1895, indicate that the Men’s Bible Class has been in existence for over 100 years. Since 1913, there have only been three leaders, Mr. Samuel Fergus to 1953, Mr. Lewis Bell to 1991 and Mr. Kenneth Flannagan to the present, a total of 95 years.

Through the years the Men’s Bible Class has not diverted from its aim of presenting the word of God as “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path” Psalm 119 v 105.

The usefulness of Bible Study as a means of Grace has also been complimented by an opportunity to develop interest and create practical support for the members of St Mark’s and others called to serve the Lord in the mission fields of the world.

The church has many needs to be met by sincere Christian witness and service; these needs would quickly diminish if all churchmen were to join devotedly and wholeheartedly in a commitment to carry on the church’s work and become personally responsible for some part of it. Joining the Men’s Bible Class would be a step in the right direction!

Target Group: Young Men (upwards)
