Description of Activities

In August 2000 the Band appointed the present conductor Mr Clive McBride, an accomplished championship grade trombonist. The band is well known as one of the best marching bands in the province but more recently the itinerary has included more concert type performances. The following are some of the venues at which the band has performed in recent years:-

  • St. Mark's Church, Portadown
  • St. Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh
  • Lord Mayor's Show, London
  • Windsor Park Football Stadium
  • The Argory (and other National Trust Venues)
  • Belfast City Hall
  • Rushmere, Lisburn and Sprucefield Shopping Centres
  • Youth Parades
  • Concerts and Band Contests throughout Northern Ireland

The band is constantly on the lookout for new members and would invite anyone who is interested in joining and benefiting from the excellent free tuition and training to contact the Band Secretary.
