Alpha Group Description of ActivitiesThe Alpha course has been repeated seven times in St Mark’s Church. Over the seven courses about 150 people have enjoyed ten weekly sessions of very special Bible teaching as a DVD presentation by Rev Nicky Gumbel. In the UK 7000 Alpha Courses are held every year making it far and away the best attended and most widely known Christian discipleship course in the world. This evening course also includes a delicious supper followed by open discussion groups. People attend Alpha for a variety of reasons – some want to investigate the very basics of Christianity while others want difficult questions on life, suffering and death answered, others want to learn more about their faith while many find that it is a voyage of discovery and the beginning of a vibrant and living faith in Jesus Christ.
